Join us and empower yourself with this essential knowledge! Learn More About Heloise As a Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM), I am dedicated to teaching parents and caregivers the art of nurturing touch through infant massage strokes and techniques. My passion lies in fostering the bond between parents and their little ones, and I believe in the power of nurturing touch to promote overall well-being for infants. As a Psychomotor Therapist , I recognize the strong link between mind and body and thoughtfully integrate this expertise into my Infant Massage practice. Through private and group classes, I empower parents with the knowledge and skills to create a loving and supportive environment for their babies. I have been certified with Infant Massage USA in 2019. Since then, I have massaged my three daughters on a daily basis and my last one from the day she was born. I can personally testify that massaging our babies and older children is very rewarding and the bond between us is stronger. I also had the pleasure of teaching numerous families in private or group Infant Massage classes at their homes or on-site. I love how every one of these families told me how much more connected they feel with their babies after taking a class! That is what motivates me the most. I had years of experience supporting families with young children with disabilities as a Psychomotor Therapist (with a degree from France). These experience and skills help me support parents and babies with any disabilities and difficulties. I also now enjoy being an Early Childhood teacher for young children and their parents since 2018 through the Park District of Oak Park, IL where I live. About Heloise Community Care Infant Massage Program Accessibility matters to me. I offer sliding-scale and discounted infant massage classes for families facing financial challenges. Contact Me Wall of Love "What I liked the most is that we could learn Infant Massage privately at home. Heloise is really available and help to be more confident in the relationship with the baby. I learned that my baby likes to be touched and that he is already asking things. Heloise is gentle, open, with no judgement and she gives suggestions when asked." Claire and Renaud Testimonials Frequently asked questions What is infant massage and how can it benefit my baby? Infant massage involves gently and intentionally touching your baby’s skin using specific techniques. Benefits can include improved sleep, relief from colic and gas, enhanced bonding, better digestion, and a boost in your baby’s overall sense of security and well-being. It’s also a wonderful way for you to become more confident and responsive to your baby’s needs. Are you a massage therapist and can you massage my baby? I am NOT a Massage Therapist. I am a Certified Educator of Infant Massage with Infant Massage USA. We are not allowed to massage your baby. Parents are the experts of their child and I will teach you everything you need to know to massage your baby. I am using a baby size doll to demonstrate the strokes. Do I need special equipment or oils for infant massage? You don’t need any special equipment for infant massage. Just your hands and a safe, edible, unscented oil like grapeseed or sunflower oil will do. All you need is a comfortable space, a soft towel or blanket, and your baby. During the class, I’ll recommend suitable oils and demonstrate safe practices. You’ll also receive a small bottle of oil to get started. Is infant massage safe for every baby, and when should it be avoided? Infant massage is safe for most healthy, full-term babies. However, if your baby was born prematurely, has a medical condition, or is recovering from surgery, please consult your healthcare provider before starting. Always follow your baby’s cues and pause the massage if they seem uncomfortable. At what age is it recommended to begin massaging a baby? You can start massaging your baby from birth with resting hands, containment holds as well as gentle strokes for a few minutes at a time. It is best however to start massaging your baby after the first few weeks of birth but within the first three months. What if my baby cries, is fussy, wants to eat or sleep during the course? My classes are designed to meet your baby's needs. I will take the time to pause when your baby needs your attention, so you can focus on her. We never massage a baby who cries and is not ready to be massaged. If necessary you will be able to practice the strokes on a doll. I will repeat the strokes as needed during the class and every time we see each other. Why do you offer a series of 5 sessions? We offer a series of 5 sessions to help you learn infant massage techniques, build your confidence, and bond with your baby. This structured format allows you to gradually learn different massage routines, understand your baby’s non-verbal cues, and build a strong connection. Plus, it’s a great way to connect with other parents. This routine will become a lasting habit! Do you offer discount? Yes, I offer sliding-scale pricing and community discounts. Please, reach out. We will find something that works ; even trading (e.g. pictures of your family for my social media,...)! I also offer discounts throughout the year. Look on my website or on my social media accounts from time to time. Can I add your classes to my baby registry? Yes! - About Infant Massage | Snuggly Start
Discover the benefits of infant massage! It may improve sleep, gas, colic, constipation,... Find expert-led infant massage classes near me to strengthen bonds and promote well-being and relaxation. About Infant Massage Massaging your baby is wonderful and gratifying for both your baby and yourself! As caregivers, we continuously seek to strengthen our bond with our infants. We want to understand them better and strive to soothe our baby when she is distressed. Infant massage is a perfect, loving way to learn how to listen to communicate with your infant through verbal and non-verbal communication. It promotes bonding, secure attachment, and develops trust and confidence! This practice not only alleviate common discomforts such as gas, colic, growing pains, teething discomfort and excess of mucus but also promotes deeper and more soundly sleep for infants and children. They are calmer, and it stimulates their circulatory and digestive systems, learning and concentration, as well as mind and body awareness. Parents, in turn, are usually less stressed, and it can help with postpartum depression for both mothers and fathers. It is a way for all parents to have a regular time of intimacy with their child. For further information regarding the benefits of Infant Massage, we encourage you to visit the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) website and the Infant Massage USA website. The IAIM recommends learning infant through five classes. This amount of time is typically needed to feel confident and to continue massaging your baby after the course is completed. You can find more explanations about it here . A Certified Educator of Infant Massage will never massage babies during classes. We demonstrate the strokes with a baby-sized doll. Parents massage their own babies to better learn and adjust to their child. Parents are the experts on their babies.
